Supports urology surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile field, and assisting surgeons with instrumentation. Responsible for preoperative setup, intraoperative support, and postoperative room turnover and inventory management.
The Surgical Technologist (Scrub Tech) supports surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting surgeons and clinical staff. This role requires knowledge of urology instrumentation, endoscopic equipment, and New Jersey facility regulations to ensure safe, high-quality care in a high-volume outpatient setting.
Postoperative duties
Assist in efficient room turnover, including instrument point-of-use cleaning and equipment care
Dispose of biohazardous materials in accordance with facility and New Jersey health regulations
Restock and prepare operating rooms for subsequent cases
Coordinate with sterile processing for reprocessing of instruments.
Maintains appropriate inventory level for supplies and facilitates the acquisition of supplies.
Picks supplies for procedures using preference lists.
Revises physician preference lists on an on-going basis.
Utilizes down time constructively.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have thorough knowledge in computer information systems.

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
$33.00–$40.00 per hour
The compensation range listed reflects the anticipated base pay for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, education, skills, and work location.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program. BLS certification is required, while CST certification and experience in urology or ambulatory surgery are preferred.
