  • Responsibilities: Provides direct care to patients under supervision/direction of the registered nurse Performs a wide variety of tasks using a patient centered model inclusive but not limited to: Assist with Bathing / Personal Hygiene Assists with ambulation of patient Assists with feeding Assist with toileting Assists with vital signs Weights Safety checks Continuous observation of patients Exhibits knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care Exhibits knowledge of principles of growth and development for patient groups served Demonstrates knowledge of providing care for specific population / age Demonstrates knowledge of computer skills Exhibits ability to provide safe care to individual needs of the patient / family / caregiver in a patient centered environment Exhibits attributes of caring, empathy and promotion of positive work environment Embodies a strong work ethic Exemplifies communication in calm professional manner Demonstrates strong desire to work as a member of the team Demonstrates excellence in the vision of customer service in health care Exhibits good team collaboration skills
  • QualificationsEducational/Minimum requirements: Must have High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Must have a valid and active CNA Certification in the State of Connecticut. Must have a valid CPR w/BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience working in a long term care and/or behavioral health setting.

  • Requirements: General orientation at time of hire. Accucheck, CPR, Fire/Safety/Infection Control annually. Health Care Provider CPR from American Heart Association or Professional Rescuer CPR by American Red Cross or other similar programs deemed appropriate by management. Additional cross-training as appropriate to perform diverse job duties. Successfully complete all training programs as determined by the Hospital. Other unit based competencies/skills as required.
