About the role

Provide direct genetic counseling services to pediatric patients and families, including interpreting medical histories and assessing disease risks. Collaborate with clinical teams to develop care plans and provide education to both patients and healthcare providers.

Job Description

Genetic counselors help patients understand and adapt to the medical, psychological, and familial implications of genetic contributions to disease.

The genetic counselor will also be responsible for assisting with provider education and other clinic support.

They will function within a clinical specialty team of genetic counselors and genetic counseling assistants, as well as have working relationships with the non-genetics clinical staff in their area.

As more experience is gained, the genetic counselor will have opportunities to take on additional projects and seek professional development in the field.
