About the role

The Registered Nurse provides expert care for critically ill patients at high risk for life-threatening health problems. Responsibilities include coordinating with the critical care team, responding to life-saving situations, and guiding ancillary personnel.

The Registered Nurse serves as an expert in evaluating patients, administering care, recognizing complications and coordinating with other members of the critical care team.

This position uses advanced skills to care for patients who are critically ill and at high risk for life-threatening health problems.

This role is responsible for responding to life-saving situations, using nursing standards and protocols for treatment, acting as patient advocate, and providing education and support to patient families.

This position works with increasing independence to set criteria for the quality of patient care, assess patients' needs and cares for patients using specialized knowledge and skills and evaluates the outcomes and interventions.

This individual also directs and guides patient care activities of ancillary personnel and other patient care personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing practice.

Requirements

Requires a nursing license in Florida or a compact state, along with BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications. A technical diploma or associate degree in nursing is required, while a bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of acute care experience are preferred.
