Overview

Performs echocardiograms on adult and pediatric inpatient/outpatients.

Qualifications

• Required
• Education: GED or High School Diploma.
• Preferred
• Education: Graduate of a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer program.
• Required
• Licensure/Certifications: BLS certification from the American Heart Association CCI or ARDMS, RDCS, required within one (1) year of hire or transfer date.
• Amount of
• Experience: Less than one (1) year minimum.
• Preferred
• Experience: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer.
• Necessary
• Skills: 1. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound physics. 2. Excellent interpersonal skills and customer/patient service, problem solving, time management and organizational skill, be a team player, excellent communication skills including telephone etiquette. 3. Ability to recognize life-threatening findings and notify physicians. 4. Ability to calculate test results. 5. Uses good body mechanics. 6. Maintain patient confidentiality. 7 . Serves as patient advocate. 8. Good organizational skills basic computer data entry.
