Under the general supervision of the Dental Director. Helps implement all the dental activities and provides quality primary dental care to patients of Variety Care Dental Clinic. Primary
Provides dental care for patients of the dental clinic by diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries, malformation of teeth and gums. Promotes preventive dentistry. Assists dental support staff regarding referral of patients who have dental problems outside the scope of services available at VARIETY CARE. Represents VARIETY CARE at various civic meetings. Completes charting that is legible, accurate and complete. Promotes standardized and uniform dental techniques and charting practices. Responsible for keeping current in professional literature, skills, and techniques. In conjunction with Dental Director, rotates after hours dental coverage. Must be flexible with regard to work schedule to accommodate Dental Clinic need to extend hours on one or more evenings per week. Performs other duties as assigned Essential Functions: Must be able to lift 25 pounds. Able to assist patients in to and out of dental chair when asked or directed. Able to walk, bend, lift, and remain on feet for extended periods of time. QualificationsRequirements, Special Skills or Knowledge: D.D.S. from an approved College of Dentistry. Unrestricted license to practice dentistry in Oklahoma. Membership in County and State Dental Societies. Desire to care for the financially disadvantaged. Unrestricted DEA/OK BNDD Certificates. Ability to work in a multi-faceted, fast past environment. Preferred Requirements, Special Skills or Knowledge: Previous practice experience. Experience in preventive dentistry programs. Ability to communicate bilingually (English/Spanish).
Must hold a D.D.S. from an approved college and possess an unrestricted license to practice dentistry in Oklahoma. Required certifications include DEA and OK BNDD certificates, with a preference for bilingual English/Spanish skills.
