About the Role

As a Kennel Team Member, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and comfort of animals under our care.

Your primary focus will be to maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment within the kennel facility, which directly impacts the well-being of the animals.

You will be responsible for daily feeding, medicating, grooming, and monitoring of animals, as well as assisting with their exercise and socialization.

This role requires a compassionate and attentive approach to animal care, as well as effective communication with team members and pet owners.

Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to a positive experience for both the animals and their owners, supporting the overall mission of our hospital.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to safely handle and care for animals of various sizes and temperaments.
  • Basic knowledge of animal care and hygiene practices.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, cleaning, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a kennel, veterinary clinic, or animal shelter.
  • Certification in pet first aid or animal care.
  • Familiarity with animal behavior and basic training techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, grooming, and exercising.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, common areas, and equipment to ensure a safe environment.
  • Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any concerns or abnormalities to supervisory staff promptly.
  • Assist with intake and release procedures, including documentation and communication with pet owners.
  • Support team members in various tasks to ensure smooth kennel operations and excellent animal care.
