Elizabeth specializes in the treatment areas of newborn and pediatric care, women’s health, burn and wound, cardiology, oncology, emergency medicine, orthopedics and neuroscience.

The Intensive Care Unit at CHI Health St.

Elizabeth is a 16-bed critical care unit, incorporating a multidisciplinary approach to care for patients with many disease processes.

The ICU is a Beacon Award for Excellence – Gold Status recipient from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), signifying excellence in quality, safety, and experience..

Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery.Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans.

Follow the nursing process which includes: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate.

The nursing process is an ongoing process that can end at any stage.

Assessment - Demonstrates a systematic, dynamic way to collect and analyze the following healthcare consumer data including: psychological, physiological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic and lifestyle factors Plan – Sets measurable and achievable short and long term goals according to standards of care based on the assessment by the nurse in collaboration with the healthcare consumer and multidisciplinary team.

Implement – Implements and/or modifies the plan of care using assessment data, clinical reasoning based upon standards of care and evidence based practice.

This includes care coordination, education and discharge planning.

The nurse is accountable for the care directly, indirectly or through delegation.

Professional and legal standards for delegation must be followed.

Evaluate – Uses a systematic ongoing process to evaluate progress towards identified healthcare consumer goals.

Revision of plan of care when needed involving the healthcare consumer and the multidisciplinary team.

Documents all phases of the nursing process in the healthcare consumer’s record.

Job Requirements Graduate of an RN nursing program, upon hire Registered Nurse: NE, upon hire and Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 5 - months

Requirements

Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current Registered Nurse (RN) license and BLS certification. Experience as an RN and specialty certifications like CCRN or PCCN are preferred.
