About the role

Provides direct patient care, monitors vital signs, and observes patient behaviors to support goals and safety. Performs clerical duties and assists in maintaining a therapeutic environment within the behavioral health unit.

Essential Duties

Participates in the orientation of patients to the unit rules and regulations and introduces him/her to other community members.

Performs patient care with attention to detail, patient safety and comfort.

Accurately measures and records patient vital signs, input and output.

Acts as patient advocate.

Observes and reports specific patient behaviors related to patient problems/goals.

Monitors patient behavior during non-structured activities; intervenes appropriately.

Performs clerical tasks such as answering the phone, making up charts, filing, order entry, ordering supplies, etc.

Assists in maintaining a therapeutic milieu environment; leads therapeutic patient activities as assigned.

Assists staff in maintaining a clean, organized environment.

Work Schedule: NOC Shift, every other weekend

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Must maintain current certification from a certified nursing assistant training program.

Preferred Qualifications

Two years relevant experience preferred.

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a current certification from a certified nursing assistant training program. Two years of relevant experience is preferred.
