About the role

The OR/PACU RN is responsible for performing preoperative assessments, formulating patient care plans, and providing psychological support to patients and families. They must also demonstrate proficiency in caring for patients under anesthesia and administering medications via intravenous routes.

Opportunity Overview

  • We have an immediate opening for an OR/PACU RN to join our team at Shady Grove Fertility in Westshore, Florida.
  • Schedule: Per diem; Schedule varies, works during the week as well as Saturdays or Sundays

This role provides the opportunity to grow within a nationally respected organization while remaining closely connected to the patients and teams you support every day.

In this role, the OR/PACU RN will

  • Utilize advanced assessment skills to identify patient care problems, formulate patient care plans
  • Perform initial preoperative assessment, develops a plan of care, and explains the subsequent phases of surgery
  • Provide comfort measures and psychological support to the patient and family members
  • Demonstrate proficiency in caring for patients who have received various types of anesthesia or conscious sedation
  • Administer medications by direct intravenous and other routes as directed
  • Provide patient education

Qualifications

and Skills Include:

  • Active RN license
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • 2 to 3 years clinical experience in Operating/Procedure Room or PACU experience strongly preferred
  • Strong technical and clinical assessment skills
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment
  • Ability to communicate accurately and concisely

Requirements

Candidates must hold an active RN license and current BLS and ACLS certifications. Two to three years of clinical experience in an Operating Room or PACU is strongly preferred.
