About the role

Provides administrative and clinical support in medical facilities, including recording patient histories and performing medical procedures. Responsible for maintaining a clean environment and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

This position is Monday through Friday, no holidays/weekends/on-call.

Hours: 8am-5pm

Position Summary

Responsible for a variety of tasks from administrative work to patient and physician support tasks at physician offices, medical clinics and other facilities. Performs or assists in a variety of medical procedures and tests in the examination and treatment of patients, including but not limited to vital signs, procedures, various treatments, administering medications and performing venipuncture. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Obtains and records patient medical histories, vital signs, test results and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality. Performs daily administrative activities, including scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and patient medical record maintenance. Prepares treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assists practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care. Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families. Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA. Prepares and administers medications for patients as directed by physicians. Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols. Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Qualifications

Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a medical assistant program or one (1) year of medical assistant experience. BLS Certification and/or Canadian equivalent Preferred: One (1) year of experience in a medical setting. Certification as a Medical Assistant. Requirements

Requires a high school diploma and completion of a medical assistant program or one year of experience. BLS certification is required, while professional certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
