30am-3pm, Monday-Friday *Call required *1+ year of Surgical Tech experience preferred *Endoscopy experience a plus *BLS (American Heart Assoc) required *This position will be strictly working in Endoscopy. Will not be required to scrub in this role. This position is located at Memorial Hermann Cypress.
Position responsible for providing proficient perioperative patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation. Position functions as a scrub assistant to the physician performing operative and/or invasive procedures. Works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and as outlined in the Surgical Technologist Skills Inventory; uses knowledge/expertise to act as a role model and resource for other staff.
Position must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient served as well as knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles.
Education: Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program
Certified in Basic Life Support and current Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
Candidates must be graduates of a Surgical Technologist Program and hold current certifications from NBSTSA or NCCT, as well as BLS certification. Experience levels range from new graduates to those with over 5 years of experience.
