Position Summary

Promotes the continued operation of Delta Family Services’ Division by ensuring that new resource families are initially certified and licensed in order to have placements in their home. Responsible for working with applicants and kinship parents to ensure the completion of all the paperwork, training, clearances, interviews and home assessments in order to be licensed. Staying within the requirements as defined by the PA Department of Human Services and the County Children and Youth Agencies services performance standards, as well as agency guidelines. Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The duties listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Contact the applicant or kinship parent within 48 hours of assignment Complete an initial home safety assessment within 72 hours for emergency kinship referrals Complete an initial home assessment for applicants within a month of assignment and a final home safety assessment at the completion of the certification process Provide applicants and kinship parents with all home study documents and interview questions Answer questions regarding the certification process Ensure the completion of documents and submit to supervisor Assist in obtaining necessary application process items Encourage applicants and kinship parents to attend, participate and complete pre-service training Keep in contact with applicants through phone and written communications Complete the home study interview with the applicant or kinship family. Compile all information from paperwork and interview to complete the home study Responsible for keeping certification team updated on where the family is at during the certification process Provide recommendations on the type of placements that should be placed in the home Ensure Emergency Kinship Referrals are completed within the state guidelines of 60 days Attend and contribute to monthly Certification Team meetings Maximize the development and capacity of staff to advance the mission and values of Delta Ensure the full capacity of programmatic resources Demonstrates ethical and professional conduct at all times Promotes continuous quality improvement projects and ongoing performance measures Promote and address Delta’s Risk Management Program for the health and safety of individuals and employees Promotes and supports best practices that are trauma informed, non-discriminatory and evidenced based Perform such other duties that may be assigned for providing excellent customer service and for the most effective operation of the company Essential Functions Ability to read, write and speak English; perform arithmetical calculations Ability to use excellent oral and written communications skills. Ability to use telephone, voice mail, copier, facsimile machine, computer and calculator. Ability to prioritize responsibilities. Ability work effectively with people. Ability to operate vehicles with a valid driver’s license in accordance with applicable state laws, insurance provider requirements and company policies and procedures. Qualifications Position Qualifications Bachelors required. Prefer some experience with knowledge of Foster Care System, CUA, PA DHS and DHS regulations.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for experience in the Foster Care System and knowledge of PA DHS regulations. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and strong communication skills.
