Perform routine laboratory tests in hematology, immunology, urinalysis, and chemistry to assist providers in disease diagnosis and treatment. Responsible for collecting, processing, and labeling specimens while maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment.
Seymour, Allouez, and every 4th weekend at our Shawano site.
This position is full time at 32 hours per week. Schedule consists of 4 shifts a week.

Job Summary At Prevea Health the Medical Laboratory Technician and Medical Laboratory Scientist are responsible for performing routine laboratory tests and procedures. These positions play a crucial role in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data that will assist providers in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases.
What you will do
Collect, process, and correctly label specimens such as but not limited to blood, urine, and tissue for analysis.
Perform routine laboratory tests in hematology, immunology, urinalysis and chemistry. Ensuring accurate test results by following quality control protocols.
Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure they are properly functioning. Making sure to troubleshoot any technical issues with equipment and perform routine maintenance.
Skills and Abilities
Possess effective written and verbal communication.
Knowledge of current medical terminology and laboratory equipment/care of equipment.
Must be able to follow written protocols, utilizing specific laboratory training to perform laboratory testing.
Must be able to interpret and analyze numerical data in relation to known patient information and testing methodology,
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
Fosters work and patient/customer relationships through excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors.
Ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands.
Possess skills to effectively problem solve.
Ability to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy levels.
Proficient in the use of EMR systems, computer, phone and office equipment.
Licenses and Certifications
This candidate must possess either the qualifications of a Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist.
Medical Laboratory Technician: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technician (AMT) within 1 Year Required
Medical Laboratory Scientist: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist through the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) OR American Medical Technician (AMT) within 1 Year Required

Requires an Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technician or a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science. Certification through ASCP or AMT is required within one year of hire.
