About the Role

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Clinical Float Pool plays a critical role in delivering high-quality nursing care across multiple departments within a healthcare facility.

This position requires adaptability and clinical expertise to provide patient-centered care in various settings, ensuring continuity and consistency in nursing services.

The LPN will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to assess patient needs, administer treatments, and monitor patient progress.

By floating between units, the LPN helps to address staffing needs dynamically, contributing to efficient operations and improved patient outcomes.

Ultimately, this role supports the facility’s mission to provide compassionate, safe, and effective care to diverse patient populations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of employment within the United States.
  • Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience in an acute care or long-term care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing principles, medication administration, and patient care documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a float pool or multiple nursing units.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in multiple clinical settings, including medical-surgical, Psychiatric , and Emergency Room.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and according to nursing protocols.
  • Monitor patient conditions, document observations, and report changes to the healthcare team promptly.
  • Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring accurate and thorough communication.
  • Collaborate with registered nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Maintain compliance with infection control standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and post-discharge care instructions.
  • Adapt quickly to different unit workflows and patient populations while maintaining high standards of care.
