LPN/Clinical Float Pool

About the Role

Minimum Qualifications

• Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of employment within the United States.
• Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience in an acute care or long-term care setting.
• Strong knowledge of nursing principles, medication administration, and patient care documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a float pool or multiple nursing units.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in multiple clinical settings, including medical-surgical, Psychiatric , and Emergency Room.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and according to nursing protocols.
• Monitor patient conditions, document observations, and report changes to the healthcare team promptly.
• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring accurate and thorough communication.
• Collaborate with registered nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain compliance with infection control standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and post-discharge care instructions.
• Adapt quickly to different unit workflows and patient populations while maintaining high standards of care.

• The LPN utilizes clinical skills daily to assess patient conditions, administer medications, and perform treatments accurately and safely.
• Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams and educating patients and families.
• Critical thinking and adaptability enable the nurse to manage diverse patient needs across various units efficiently.
