EIHC is seeking a full-time Triage Registered Nurse dedicated to serving the needs of our community.
Monday through Friday 8: 00 am to 5:00 pm
$27.04 to $43.68 hourly depending on experience
Essential duties and responsibilities
Assess the severity of symptoms and prioritizes urgency of need based on obtaining thorough clinical information from patient, parent or authorized representative during the encounter. Information shall be thorough and complete to guide an appropriate plan of action and provide the fundamentals for a comprehensive provider evaluation.
Provide evidence-based advice and recommendations to patients of all ages and diagnosis in accordance with the clinical providers, algorithms and protocols, and independent nursing judgement.
Guides and assists patients to the appropriate level of care as needed including emergency services.
Notifies provider and/or clinic staff in a timely manner regarding unusual or unexpected events/problems requiring a provider consultation or intervention.
Assists with the coordination of services, procedures, referrals, prior authorizations, inpatient consults, or admissions as needed.
Required qualifications
An associate’s degree or a certificate from a qualified RN program required.
Currently licensed to practice in the state of Iowa.
Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers Certification (BLS) required.
Previous experience a triage nurse preferred.
EMR experience preferred.
