What You’ll Do: Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, materials, and equipment.
Prepare patients for surgery, including applying topical anesthetics and explaining the procedure to help them feel at ease.
Provide "chairside" assistance to the oral surgeon, anticipating their needs and efficiently passing instruments.
Maintain a clear surgical field using suction hoses and other equipment.
Monitor patient vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate) and anesthesia levels.
Provide patients with detailed post-operative instructions for managing pain, preventing infection, and promoting healing.
Clean and disinfect the operating room and instruments after the procedure.
Schedule follow-up appointments and handle other administrative tasks as needed.
Monitor and replenish surgical supplies and inventory.
Operate X-ray and 3D scanning equipment to take and process dental radiographs.
