The CT Technologist is responsible for arranging patients for Computed Tomography examinations and producing diagnostic images. They ensure patient safety by following imaging protocols, screening for contrast media, and providing patient education.
The CT Tech 1 arranges patients for Computed Tomography examinations.
Produces CT images to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems.
Prevents patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.
Ensures patient safety by using pre-established imaging protocols, and screens patients for safe administration of contrast media.
Utilizes departmental policy to perform safe operation of equipment and all functions of the job.
Provides complete pre and post education to patients and family.
Initially, may require instruction and guidance to accomplish the job and should develop into performing work under general supervision.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program and hold a current state license and ARRT (R) certification or be registry eligible. BLS-HCP certification is also required.
