Our team is looking for a Clinical Medical Assistant seeking a career in dermatology. The ideal Medical Assistant candidate is upbeat, energetic, intelligent, highly dependable, organized, and can multitask. Our team members are responsible for assisting the Provider with patient visits, including consultations and procedures, through the following responsibilities:
Primary Duties
Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations.
Calls patients from the waiting room and places patients in the exam room
Interview patients and record information in patients' electronic charts.
Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.
Assists providers with examination or surgical procedures.
Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
Assists with laundry.
Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
Administers injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests as ordered by the provider.
Draws blood and obtains urine specimens from patients. Prepares specimens for the reference laboratory and completes appropriate requisitions.
Prepares biopsy specimens for submission to the appropriate lab.
Dispenses oral medications as directed by the provider.
Educates all new patients on skin cancer and sunscreen use.
Documents patient visits in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Assists the phone triage nurse in obtaining prior authorizations for procedures or medications.
Assists the phone triage nurse with prescriptions and refills to the pharmacy according to protocol.
LOCATION - Cartersville, with required travel to Rome and Hiram

Requires a Medical Assistant (MA) certification and hands-on clinical experience. Dermatology or surgical experience is preferred, along with the ability to travel between regional locations.
