About the role

Coordinates and performs patient care in general cardiology using the nursing process in collaboration with physicians. Responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of complex patients across the care continuum.

Performs and/or coordinates patient care in area of expertise utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers along the continuum of care.

Demonstrates advanced nursing skills through assessment, diagnosis and treatment of complex patients in area of specialty.

Communicates the plan of care in area of expertise to other members of the interdisciplinary team.

Provides care for patients of all ages according to the standards of care specific to the individual's needs.

Primary duty includes the performance of work requiring advanced knowledge, in a field of science or learning, and which requires the consistent exercise of discretion and judgment.

Education Qualifications

Master’s degree in Nursing is required.

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing PLUS 5 years relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Doctoral degree in Nursing is preferred.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

Licensed in the state of practice as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse is required.

Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (WDSPS) or

Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Board certification from the National Certification Corporation is preferred.

Controlled Substance license in state of practice is preferred.

Federal DEA license is preferred.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is preferred.

Requirements

Requires a Master's degree in Nursing or a Bachelor's with 5 years of relevant experience, and a valid APRN license in Illinois or Wisconsin. BLS certification is required, while Board certification and DEA licensure are preferred.
