Join Logan Health as a PRN Massage Therapist and help provide compassionate, therapeutic care in a healthcare environment. This position primarily provides coverage during vacations, illnesses, and other absences of the regularly scheduled massage therapist.

Guided by Planetree principles of person-centered care, the Massage Therapist provides services to patients preparing for procedures or receiving care throughout the hospital. This position may also provide massage therapy to hospital employees, physicians, volunteers, and their families.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a massage therapy program requiring a minimum of 500 hours of training.
  • Current Montana massage therapy license or registration and/or national certification through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB).
  • A minimum of two years of massage therapy experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare or wellness setting is preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity, kindness, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, critical-thinking abilities, and the ability to prioritize responsibilities effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient, employee, and organizational confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage sensitive or confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and the ability to learn additional software as needed.
  • Commitment to excellence through high standards and quality outcomes.

Driving Requirements

To perform duties that require driving

  • A current driver’s license is required.
  • The applicant’s driving record for the previous 36 months must not include major driving offenses, including a DUI, a felony involving a motor vehicle, a suspended license, or three or more speeding tickets or other moving violations.
  • Personal vehicles used for Logan Health business must carry at least the minimum liability insurance coverage required by state law.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides massage therapy to patients in designated care areas, which may include Same Day Surgery, the Birth Center, Medical/Surgical/Pediatric units, the Special Care Unit, the Infusion Department, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, and the Emergency Department.
  • Provides massage therapy to patients preparing for procedures or receiving care in accordance with their individual needs and clinical circumstances.
  • Provides chair massage services to employees, physicians, and volunteers.
  • Obtains relevant health information and evaluates each individual’s needs before providing massage therapy.
  • Adapts massage techniques based on the individual’s health history, comfort level, condition, and care needs.
  • Identifies and appropriately reports unusual or abnormal patient conditions.
  • Provides massage therapy to eligible employees and family members as part of the employee wellness or health benefit program and in accordance with established registration procedures.
  • Maintains open communication with patients, families, employees, healthcare professionals, and program leadership.
  • Demonstrates a sensitive, respectful, and caring approach during all interactions.
  • Participates in the continued development and improvement of massage therapy services.
  • Provides education regarding massage therapy, its potential benefits, and appropriate wellness practices.
  • Develops educational and written materials to support the massage therapy program.
  • Supports Logan Health’s mission, vision, and values through compassionate, person-centered service.

The essential functions listed above represent the primary duties associated with this job classification. Specific responsibilities may vary based on departmental and organizational needs. Additional duties consistent with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position may be assigned.

Shift: Variable (United States of America)

Schedule

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.

PRN positions (also referred to as Casual, As Needed, or Per Diem) at Logan Health offer flexibility and are designed to provide coverage during busy periods, employee absences, and vacations, making them an excellent opportunity to support the team as needed. PRN employees can participate in a matching 401(k) plan and have access to the Employee Assistance Program. Additionally, they may qualify for hourly differential pay for certain shifts or hours, offering extra compensation based on department-specific scheduling needs. Pay rates and scheduling practices may vary by department.
