Summary • POSITION SUMMARY • Position Summary

  • Under the direction and supervision of the professional nurse in charge of the department, the specialty technician assists the nurses in providing quality patient care and informs the nurse about any significant changes. This includes taking vital signs, transporting patients, and helping the professional nurse with interventions. The specialty technician also interacts with other departments, performs cleaning, and restocks supplies, all under the direction of the professional nurse.

  • Minimum Education
  • High school graduate or GED preferred
  • Successful completion of a certified nurse assistant training course, or completion of Fundamentals of Nursing course.
  • Minimum Experience
  • 1-2 years nurse assistant experience preferred
  • Required Registration/License/Certification
  • Current Kansas C.N.A. certification
  • Basic Life Support certification from either American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Health Care Provider, or Basic Life Support (American Heart Association-Health Care Provider), or successful completion within the first 90 days of employment.

Requirements

Candidates should be high school graduates with a C.N.A. certification and Basic Life Support certification. One to two years of nurse assistant experience is preferred.
