Plan and implement rehabilitative programs for individuals with speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and families to develop treatment plans and facilitate discharge planning.

This individual is responsible to plan and implement habilitative/rehabilitative programs for individuals who exhibit speech/language/swallowing problems.
Plans, directs, evaluates, and conducts habilitative and rehabilitative programs to treat speech, language and/or swallowing disorders.
Prepares written reports of diagnostic findings, intervention techniques used, progress made and follow-up status in a timeframe according to policy and procedure.
Develops treatment plans, directs, supervises, and treats patients/caregiver in accordance with treatment plan.
Consults and communicates with patient, family, providers, and nursing staff.
Assist multidisciplinary team with discharge planning and establishes home therapy programs.
Completes required documentation on patients and maintains other department records in accordance with departmental, health center policies and procedures.
Assists in cost containment through efficient use of work time and supplies
Promotes efficient utilization of resources/supplies. Ensures charges are appropriate based on services provided adhering to productivity guidelines.

Requires a Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology and current licensure from the Iowa Department of Public Health. At least one year of competence in an acute patient care setting is required, though CFY supervision is available.
