Perform back-office clinical duties including rooming patients, taking vitals, and assisting providers with OBGYN procedures. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, documenting patient care in EPIC, and managing referrals.
This is a benefited, full-time position (80 hours every 2 weeks) working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm.
No weekends or evenings.
Shift times may vary based on department needs.
Located in Encinitas off Santa Fe Drive but you may be floated to other Scripps Clinics on an as needed basis.

What you'll do: Predominantly back-office responsibilities but is expected to help with front-office duties on an as-needed basis Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person Collecting patient data in person and by phone Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review Administering medications specifically directed by the physician Scheduling of appointments and procedures Complete and accurate message taking Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics
Requires completion of a formal Medical Assistant program, certification, or two years of military corpsman experience. BLS certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
