Provide compassionate personal care, mobility support, and companionship for two young men with cerebral palsy. Responsibilities include assisting with dressing, grooming, toileting, and using assistive transfer equipment.
Flexible schedule A family is currently seeking a compassionate, reliable, and motivated Self-Directed Employee (SDE) to provide support for two young men in their home through self-direction services.
This is an excellent opportunity for students or individuals pursuing careers in nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, special education, or other healthcare-related fields who are looking for meaningful hands-on experience in a rewarding and supportive environment.
About the Individuals
The individuals receiving support are young men with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy. They are nonverbal but alert, interactive, and each have unique personalities. They thrive with patient, caring support and enjoy engaging with those around them.
They live in a fully accessible home equipped with supportive equipment including a lift and Hoyer system.
Employees will be trained to support both individuals; however, you will only be responsible for working with one individual at a time during scheduled shifts.
