This position is in the Nurse Family Partnership program of the Health Department located in Clinton Twp

Current hours and starting time

  • Full-time (37.5 hours per week) position.
  • The starting time for this position is 8:30 a.m.

General summary

Under direction, provides direct nursing services in a clinical, geographic or programmatic area.

Essential functions and responsibilities

Provides direct nursing care in an assigned area, using appropriate authorized nursing skills.

Teaches, consults and acts as public health resource person to individuals, families, community groups and other health care professionals.

  • Documents appropriate data, activities and outcomes in the client records, utilizing the required recording format.
  • Works with clients to assess their needs, provide information or assistance and resolve problems.
  • Assists in coordinating the activities of an assigned clinic and/or program area.
  • Participates on selected agency committees as directed.
  • Participates in the orientation of staff.
  • Generates, evaluates and chooses the best alternative in order to make a determination, draw conclusions or solve a problem.

Operates an automobile to perform assigned job functions.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
  • Be licensed by the Michigan Board of Nursing to practice as a Registered Nurse, or be in the process of securing Michigan licensure
  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional nursing experience
  • Preferred Education and Experience
  • Previous public health or community health nursing experience is preferred

  • Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other technology applications.

  • Effectively speak, write and understand the English language
