Perform diagnostic tests on veterinary samples including blood, urine, and biopsies using automated analyzers and microscopes. Process samples and release results according to Standard Operating Procedures to support animal treatment.
As Laboratory Technician at IDEXX, you perform laboratory testing that helps veterinarians diagnose and treat pets. This position will primarily be focused on processing samples that are brought into our lab from veterinary hospitals.
You will be working with samples such as blood, urine, fecals, surgical biopsies, etc. PPE such as a lab coat, protective eyewear and gloves are provided to all of our employees.
This is an Early Morning/Overnight position, please be aware that this schedule will not change.
You will use automated analyzers, microscopes and other laboratory diagnostic tools to perform analyses and tests that diagnose animal illnesses, injuries and diseases in support of veterinarian animal treatment.
You will perform diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal or pet biopsy samples that we receive in our lab by the thousands, every day.
You will set up and run lab tests, then read and release results according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).

You possess a High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A 2-, 3- or 4-year degree in a Science-related field is preferred.
You have a work history of being on time with minimal call-off's for each shift
Training will be provided for this position. There may also be times when you will be cross trained in different areas of our lab.
Ideally, you will have experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests, and operating laboratory equipment (microscopes, pipetting and / or clinical diagnostic analyzers).

Able to meet the physical requirements that go with working in a lab – standing and sitting for extended periods of time, phone & computer use, extended reach, lifting up to 50lb, and specific vision ability – close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
This is a laboratory, so there is potential exposure to biohazards, agents known to cause zoonotic diseases, and hazardous chemicals.
