The Clinic Patient Care Technician provides clinical and administrative support to physicians and nursing staff, including rooming patients and collecting vital signs. They are responsible for maintaining exam rooms, performing basic lab tests, and ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health records.
1. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. 2. Must be at least 16 years of age. 3. High school diploma or GED. 4. Completion of one of the following: MercyOne Patient Care Tech training program 75-hour or 120-hour Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program 136-hour certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program Accredited Medical Assistant program Accredited Radiography Technology program (for limited radiography) with valid State of Iowa Limited Radiographer Certification Currently enrolled in an RN program. Successful completion of first semester of RN program. 5. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (AHA or Red Cross, live class only), obtained within 60 days of hire and maintained. 6. Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter training (Child and Dependent Adult Abuse) within 6 months of hire, renewed every 5 years. 7. Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows environment, web-based navigation, email, MS Office). 8. Ability to work with diverse groups of people and in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. 9. Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patient, visitors, and colleagues while performing their job duties. 10.
