Position Details

The Psychiatric Technician II ensures the safety and well-being of residents in the Residential Program, with a focus on therapy and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead psycho-educational groups to foster peer interaction, problem-solving, and treatment goal achievement.
  • Assist residents in building life skills for independent living.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow all reporting requirements.
  • Support residents with household tasks and teach essential daily living skills (e.g., hygiene, time management).
  • Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Contribute to a therapeutic environment that encourages personal growth, with opportunities for advancement within the program.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in psychology or related human service field required.
    • Minimum one year experience in a psychiatric/mental health field required.
    • Knowledge and understanding of severe mental illness, recovery principles, and recovery driven service systems.
    • Valid Driver’s License required.
    • All Clearances required by OMHSAS.

    Requirements

    A Bachelor's degree in psychology or a related human service field and at least one year of experience in psychiatric or mental health fields are required. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and all necessary OMHSAS clearances.
