  • Role: Kennel Technician Status: Full-time Salary: Negotiable and based on experience Schedule: 40-hour work week with rotating schedule between hours of 7:15 am - 6:15 pm weekly and rotation hours on alternating weekends Opelika Animal Hospital is looking for a kennel technician to join our team! Our team consists of highly skilled veterinarians and staff. Together, we have a combined 110 years of experience in veterinary medicine. Our knowledge and experience allow us to provide the best medical care possible for your pet. Loving, humane treatment of animals is our top priority, and we are committed to providing the care your pet needs to live a long, happy life. Why Our Kennel Technicians Love it Here Scheduling to foster a proper work-life balance and offers flexibility when life happens Opportunity to grow and learn A supportive environment where you can be yourself How Our Kennel Technicians Spend Your Day: Transporting pets to and from kennels. Ensuring that the animals always have ample fresh food and water Cleaning animal waste, spilled food, hair and other debris from kennels Accompany animals on walks, if required Calming animals that are in distress Bathing dogs and cats Reporting significant changes in functioning to the Veterinarian or medical professional on duty Evacuating all animals in case of an emergency Assisting Veterinarians

Requirements

Requires previous experience in animal care and the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Candidates must be available to work a rotating schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
