About the role

The Registered Nurse will provide safe and efficient patient care in high-acuity settings. The role focuses on maintaining compliant staffing ratios to address increasing patient volumes and acuity levels.

Although this is a newly created position, it has been accounted for in the approved 2026 budget and strategic workforce plan. The addition of an Acute Care Registered Nurse is necessary to address increasing patient volumes and higher acuity levels while maintaining safe and compliant staffing ratios.

Financial Impact

Proactively filling this role supports cost containment by reducing overtime expenses, minimizing reliance on agency staffing, and decreasing burnout-related turnover. Adequate staffing also lowers the risk of costly adverse events, readmissions, and extended lengths of stay.
