  • Shift: DayThe Pre-Operative/Pre-Admission Testing (Pre-Op/PAT) Nurse is responsible for assessing, educating, and preparing patients for surgical and procedural care. This role conducts comprehensive preoperative evaluations, reviews medical histories, coordinates required testing, identifies potential risks, and collaborates with physicians, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare team members to ensure patients are optimized for surgery. The Pre-Op/PAT Nurse promotes patient safety, regulatory compliance, and positive patient outcomes through thorough assessment, education, and care coordination. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas. Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred. Previous experience in preoperative services, ambulatory surgery, perioperative nursing, critical care, or medical-surgical nursing preferred. Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and care coordination skills. Knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia considerations, and preoperative standards of care. Excellent communication, organizational, and patient education abilities. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a current Texas RN license and BLS certification, with a BSN preferred. Experience in preoperative, ambulatory, or critical care nursing is highly desired.
