  • Type: Per DiemBoone Memorial Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emergency Department Staff Nurse to join our team. The Emergency Department Staff Nurse provides direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting, assessing patient needs, performing emergency procedures within the scope of nursing practice, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care. Essential Responsibilities Collect patient histories, assess symptoms, and coordinate care plans with the healthcare team. Perform triage assessments, considering both physical and psychosocial needs. Manage basic life support needs and stabilize patients until the attending physician is available. Monitor patient conditions and initiate corrective action when adverse symptoms are identified. Record vital signs and maintain accurate, timely documentation. Assist physicians during examinations, diagnostic testing, and treatments. Prepare, administer, and document medications, including oral, subcutaneous, and intravenous medications. Provide IV therapy and wound care. Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medications, rehabilitation, diet, and follow-up care. Report suspected abuse in accordance with applicable laws and organizational policies. Manage multiple patient cases simultaneously while continually prioritizing patient needs. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Demonstrate professionalism and composure in high-pressure situations. Attend all required training and continuing education programs. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current West Virginia Registered Nurse license. Emergency department nursing experience preferred. Experience with electronic health record systems. Thorough knowledge of professional nursing principles, procedures, and terminology. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Required Certifications Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification. Candidates who do not currently possess ACLS and PALS certifications must obtain them within six months of hire. TNCC certification must be obtained within one year of hire. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to perform frequent reaching, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, squatting, grasping, and repetitive arm and hand movements. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques. Requirements
