  • Shift: DayThe Non-Secure Detention Clinician is responsible for providing clinical treatment and assessments to children and families consistent with agency mission, vision and values.

  • Responsibilities: Develop an initial Individual Crisis Support Plan (ICSP) with the resident within 24 hours of admission, excluding weekends and holidays. This ICSP shall be reviewed at a minimum every thirty (30) days and updated as indicated. Completes an assessment of residents within 72- hours of admission to the Non-Secure Detention (NSD) facility. Develops and implements an individualized treatment plan for each resident within five (5) days, excluding weekends and holidays, of admission to the NSD facility. Completes required documentation and assessments within 15 days of admission and communicates report to internal and external stakeholders. Works collaboratively with NSD team to support the residents. Interfaces with internal and external programs/stakeholders including but not limited to county caseworkers, probation/court officers, for purpose of treatment planning.
  • Meets with each resident once a week for 1:1 counseling addressing objectives in the resident’s treatment plan. Responsible for co-facilitating two social and emotional skills groups a week. Ensures all clinical services are delivered in accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements. Collaborates with members of the program to develop a discharge plan for each resident, identifying community resources available to the resident and their families. Completes, maintains, and tracks all mandatory documentation in accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements. Provides telehealth services to residents within the NSD program. Provides as needed in-service training to the staff regarding a basic understanding of primary mental health disorders seen in the program and provides resources to assist direct staff in their day-to-day responsibilities with youth. Represents agency in a professional manner and attends internal and external meetings, clinical supervision, and team meetings and prepares required documentation for all meetings.

  • Requirements: A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field that qualifies for Licensure or Limited Permit eligibility is required. LCSW strongly preferred. At least 1 year of experience in behavioral health, child welfare, or a residential setting working with at-risk youth is required. A valid driver’s license is required with acceptable driving history to the Agency. Limited travel may be necessary, including visits to other agency facilities. Must be able to obtain and maintain TCI and First Aid/CPR certification. Ability to work effectively with economically and culturally diverse populations. Capacity to engage with individuals experiencing emotional and psychological challenges. Salary & Schedule $74,500 - 83,000 annually; commensurate on experience. Monday-Friday Report on-site to NSD Detention in Canaan, NY for your primary location. Travel between programs to NSD Canaan, NY and Bath, NY as needed. No hybrid or remote work is supported, all work must be done in person at the specified locations. Requirements

Requires a Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling and an LMSW license. Candidates must have 2-4 years of clinical experience with at-risk youth and a valid driver's license.
