About the role

Provide routine daily nursing care and assist residents with activities of daily living while preserving their dignity and rights. Monitor vital signs, maintain room hygiene, and document patient conditions accurately in compliance with regulations.

Located in the heart of World Golf Village, Westminster St. Augustine, a Life Care Retirement Community, is currently accepting applications for the position of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to work in our Health Center on a full-time basis for the 3-11pm shift. As a part of the Nursing Team, this individual will provide assigned residents with routine daily nursing care in accordance with nursing care procedures and as directed by their supervisor in a manner that preserves residents’ dignity, honors their rights, provides good customer service, communicates appropriately and adheres to federal and state compliance regulations. As part of the Westminster Family, this position is a vital part of our Nursing Team.

Essential job functions

The Certified Nursing Assistant must comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Services and its communities including:

1.

Assist patients/residents with Activities of Daily Living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transferring, ambulating, toileting, and other resident needs.

2.

Ensure that beds are made; trash has been removed, and a high level of hygiene is maintained in the room.

3.

Ensure that meals are served on time and assist residents with meals and feeding, if necessary.

4.

Take vital signs and report observations and any change in condition to the nurse.

5.

Practice infection prevention and control measures in compliance with Federal, State and facility requirements.

6.

Document in CNA ECS flow-sheet promptly, accurately and comprehensively/thoroughly.

7.

Make routine and frequent rounds to ensure those safety precautions/equipment are in place and in working order.

8.

Avoid development of skin problems or skin breakdown by providing timely incontinent care and frequent re-positioning of residents that need assistance.

Essential qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with the laws of Florida and must be CPR Certified. Med Tech Certification preferred. ALL APPLICANT'S PLEASE UPLOAD YOUR CURRENT PROFESSIONAL FL CNA LICENSE, CPR CERTIFICATION (American Heart Association or American Red Cross only) WITHIN YOUR APPLICATION TO EXPEDITE THE PROCESS. One year of long term care experience or working with handicapped or developmentally disabled adults.

Physical and Environmental Requirements. The physical activities of this position involve: Balancing, Grasping, Pushing, Climbing, Kneeling, Reclining, Crouching, Lifting up to 40 lbs., Standing, Fingering, Stooping

Sensory and communicative activities with or without prosthetics of this position are: Feeling, Seeing, Smelling, Hearing, Speaking

An individual in this position will be exposed to

Inside/outside environmental conditions, Bloodborne pathogens, Respiratory pathogens, Physical equipment hazards

Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of this position.

Requirements

Must be a Florida Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and CPR certified, with Med Tech certification preferred. Requires one year of experience in long term care or working with disabled adults.
