About the role

The Histology Technologist is responsible for the collection and processing of biological specimens to support high-quality patient care. They perform a full range of laboratory procedures and evaluate new techniques to improve laboratory outcomes.

Pay Range

$26.80 - $40.20 A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education. By evaluating and solving problems related to collection and processing of biological specimens the Histology Technologist plays a vital role on the laboratory team. The Histology Technologist performs a full range of laboratory procedures and evaluates new techniques and procedures in the laboratory to support the delivery of high-quality patient care.

  • Compensation that aligns with your experience Education Bachelor's degree with 30 hours biology and chemistry and completion of NAACLS accredited histology technician program OR bachelor's degree with 30 hours biology and chemistry and 1 year full time experience in histopathology. Bachelors-Required Experience No Experience Required Certifications Licenses and Registrations American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Histology certificate or equivalent from a recognized accrediting agency.

Requires a Bachelor's degree with 30 hours of biology and chemistry, plus completion of a NAACLS accredited histology program or one year of experience. An ASCP Histology certificate or equivalent is required.
