About the role

The LPN provides nursing care during the initiation, monitoring, and discontinuation of hemodialysis treatments under RN supervision. Responsibilities include assessing patient access, obtaining lab work, and educating patients on medications.

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing care at a DCI in-center hemodialysis clinic as part of a patient care team.

Schedule

  • Full-time, four 10-hour shifts starting at 5am; Sundays off; no overnight shifts
  • Compensation: Pay range from $23-$28 per hour, depending on nursing and dialysis experience

Responsibilities

What You Can Expect: Role under direct RN supervision Provide nursing care throughout patient assessment, initiation and discontinuation of treatment; monitor during and assess following treatment; and obtain necessary lab work Assess and monitor patient’s access with intervention as appropriate Follow the clinic’s infection control policies and procedures Understand concepts of water treatment and effects on patient care Communicate effectively to keep charge nurse aware of patient condition changes Know and follow clinic risk management program Administer and educate patient regarding medications, within scope of practice Attend required training and staff meetings to maintain and expand skills

Candidates must have completed an accredited practical nursing program and hold a current SC LPN license and CPR/AED certification. Dialysis experience is preferred but not required, and IV therapy training is necessary if applicable.
