Medical Technologist follows procedures, performs & documents chemical, microscopic, morphologic, immunologic, bacteriologic tests. Obtains accurate results within procedure limitations with a turnaround time as stated in the procedure manual. Follows Policy and Procedural guidelines for the communication of critical test results including the timeliness and documentation. Discovers & corrects problems in a timely manner. Collects adequate venous & capillary blood specimens in a competent manner. Participates as instructed in the orientation of new team members. As requested, inventories & orders supplies as needed. Maintains adequate inventory of all laboratory material supplies and works toward reducing costs. Demonstrates flexibility in job duties. Assists in other areas of the laboratory and hospital as needed. Assumes additional or changed shift assignments when requested
