Medical Technologist follows procedures, performs & documents chemical, microscopic, morphologic, immunologic, bacteriologic tests. Follows Policy and Procedural guidelines for the communication of critical test results including the timeliness and documentation. Discovers & corrects problems in a timely manner. Familiar with all pertinent computer procedures & contingency procedures. Verifies completion of work by various computer programs & assigned work is completed. Collects adequate venous & capillary blood specimens in a competent manner. Participates as instructed in the orientation of new team members. As requested, inventories & orders supplies as needed. Maintains adequate inventory of all laboratory material supplies and works toward reducing costs. Demonstrates flexibility in job duties. Assists in other areas of the laboratory and hospital as needed. Assumes additional or changed shift assignments when requested
