Position Summary
A staff speech-language pathologist provides prevention, evaluation, diagnoses, and intervention for speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders to patients across a life span refined by medical staff. Additionally, provides clinical supervison for students and clinical fellows and supervision for support staff for the provision of care.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in speech pathology or equivalent, or graduate of an accredited speech-language pathology program.
- 1-3 years of hospital experience is highly preferred Current Texas State License in Speech-Language Pathology and holds CCC from the American Speech, Hearing, and Language Association.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines must be completed during new hire orientation prior to working in a clinical setting.
- Must be able to commute between facilities in a timely manner.
- Strong knowledge of advanced therapy skills and competencies.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal relationship skills.
- Basic computer skills.
