Under direct supervision of a physician working within a clinic admixture room, performs the technical, nonjudgmental aspects of medication preparation, distribution, record keeping and inventory control. Tasks are subject to sequential or final verification by a registered nurse or a registered pharmacist. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
High School Diploma or Equivalent Minimum of 2-3 years of pharmacy technician or other related health care experience Knowledge of pharmaceuticals, pharmacy calculations, and related medical technology Graduation from VoTech Pharmacy Technician Program desired Certified Pharmacy Technician Certificate or State Pharmacy Board required Intravenous drug and Chemotherapy compounding experience preferred, but not required PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires a High School Diploma and 2-3 years of pharmacy technician experience, along with a state board or professional certification. Experience in IV and chemotherapy compounding is preferred.
