  • HOURS: Part-time, in-office Contractor between 16 to 24 hours per week (0.4 to 0.6) week ORGANIZATION The mission of Ravenswood Family Health Network (RFHN) is to improve the health of the community by providing culturally sensitive, integrated primary and preventative health care to all, regardless of ability to pay or immigration status, and collaborating with community partners to address the social determinants of health. POSITION Summary Under the direction of the Integrated Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) and Social Services Director, the Clinical Psychologist conducts brief psychosocial assessments, short-term behavioral health treatment, crisis interventions, provider consultations, educational trainings, and referrals to appropriate community resources. The Clinical Psychologist helps develop, nurture, and sustain community resources as well as plans and implements strategies to improve the overall health and well-being of our patients and families. As an active member of the IBHS team, this role contributes to team goal-setting, participates in case conferencing, and acts as a consultant to medical providers, their support staff, and other departments. The Clinical Psychologist is also expected to participate in the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model and other quality improvement efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities

To be performed in accordance with RFHN Policies and Procedures Completes brief psychosocial assessments in English and/or Spanish. Provides short-term therapeutic interventions to patients presenting with a range of clinical concerns, including but not limited to, crisis intervention depression, anxiety, acute trauma, grief counseling, parent-child relationship distress, school related issues, parent education, and psychoeducation of ADHD and ASD. Conducts warm handoffs in collaboration with patient healthcare team when needed. Develops and implements a psychosocial resource plan in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members, as needed. Consults medical team members regarding psychosocial/clinical issues. Educates patients, families, staff, and the community related to psychosocial needs and interventions. Assesses, reports, and provides intervention in cases of domestic violence, child abuse, dependent/elder abuse, and other reportable situations in accordance with ethical practice, legal mandates, and the health center’s policies. Provides support and gathers information for patients and staff regarding legal issues, including custody, guardianship, consent, conservatorship, sensitive services for teens, and Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care. Consults with Compliance Officer and Risk Management department when indicated. May participate in community collaboratives/new initiatives to more effectively identify, evaluate and meet the needs of patients and families. Documents all patient interactions into the Electronic Health Record according to organizational policies. Attends department, health center, and community in-services related to field of practice and organizational needs. Participates in quality improvement and assurance activities as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. General Agency Duties Fosters an environment that promotes trust and cooperation among patients and staff; maintains strictest confidentiality concerning all patient and employee information. Promotes and exemplifies in action, the mission, goals, policies, procedures and principles of RFHN to patients and clinic staff. Participates in department and organizational quality assurance activities and serves on ad hoc committees, as requested. Attends RFHN staff retreats and staff meetings, as requested by the IBHS/Social Services Director and/or Department Manager. Qualifications Doctorate degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology and a valid CA Board of Psychology license required. Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency required. Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent and sensible judgment; demonstrates clinical decision-making and problem-solving expertise and consult with other licensed providers appropriately and in a timely manner. Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively with a culturally diverse clinic staff and patients. Ability to build working relationships with patient’s health care team. Ability to collaborate and work effectively with the management team, patients, the public, community members and external agencies. Previous work experience in integrated behavioral health teams and primary care preferred. Ability to exercise clinical judgment with supportive consultation in a timely manner. Ability to exercise flexibility in treatment approach and duration/types of appointments and program/integrative model changes (i.e. 30 or 45-minute sessions, on the spot access, etc.). Computer literacy required; familiarity with the use of Microsoft Windows programs. Up to date with COVID-19 vaccines per current CDC guidelines strongly recommended. Licensed Clinical Psychologist contractor hourly rate $125-$150, commensurate with years of experience post licensure.

Requirements

Requires a Doctorate degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology and a valid California Board of Psychology license. Proficiency in both English and Spanish is mandatory.
