Responsibilities

GENERAL SUMMARY Assists in maintaining patient and staff safety by monitoring patient and assisting delegated nursing care. Incorporates therapeutic and diversionary interventions to maintain patient safety, refocus the patient, and promote healthy behaviors as needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Incorporates therapeutic and diversionary interventions to maintain patient safety, refocus the patient, and promote healthy behaviors. Assists patients with ambulation, hygiene, nutrition, linen changes, and other activities of daily living. Identifies potential risks and early signs of escalating patient behaviors, such as agitation, confusion, and anxiety. Keeps patient and staff safety at the forefront, engaging the patient in reduction techniques to maintain safety. Incorporates problem solving and critical thinking skills to help implement behavioral interventions. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High School diploma required 1 year of experience related to patient care or psychiatric training preferred or less than 1 year (six months) of nursing education preferred Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Requirements
