About the role

The Behavioral Health Physician Associate is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care, including performing physical examinations, diagnosing conditions, and managing treatment plans. Collaboration with healthcare professionals and maintaining accurate documentation are also essential aspects of the role.

Completes face to face assessments and healthcare services under the general supervision of the agency’s Medical Director. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Essential functions

Evaluates health status through performing comprehensive health assessments as required by agency policies

Accountable for completion of face to face assessments within required timeframes.

Collaborates with physician, patient/family and interdisciplinary team regarding assessment findings, care needs, and revisions to plan of care.

Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with patients, family members, co-workers, physicians and referral sources.

Performs timely and accurate documentation in accordance with agency policy.

Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).

Minimum knowledge and skills required

  • Knowledge of MS Office software.
  • Keyboarding skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
  • Multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to apply advanced nursing principles.

  • Current licensure in the State of Kansas Physician Assistant
  • NPI Number and DEA Number.
  • Healthcare Provider BLS – if BLS is not American Heart Association, AHA BLS is required within three months of hire.
  • Kansas State Driver’s License.
  • Auto Insurance equal to or greater than the Kansas insurance requirements.
