We are currently seeking Full-Time Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) to join our team.
We have day and night shift opportunities available for compassionate, dependable individuals who are passionate about behavioral healthcare and making a positive impact in the lives of others.
As a Mental Health Technician, you will work directly with patients in our inpatient behavioral health hospital, providing support, encouragement, and supervision while helping maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment. You will work alongside nurses, therapists, physicians, and other members of the treatment team to promote patient safety, recovery, and overall well-being.
Provide direct patient care and supervision throughout each shift. Obtain vital signs and observe patients for changes in behavior or condition. Conduct routine safety rounds and accurately document patient observations. Assist with admissions, patient orientation, and discharge processes. Support patients with daily activities while encouraging healthy coping and life skills. Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques to assist patients experiencing emotional or behavioral crises. Escort patients to activities, appointments, and treatment areas as needed. Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic treatment environment. Communicate patient concerns and behavioral changes promptly to the nursing team. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to support individualized patient care.
Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications: High school diploma or GED and at least one (1) year of direct care experience working with behavioral health or psychiatric patients. One (1) year of military Corpsman experience. Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field with experience working with mental health patients. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with previous behavioral health or psychiatric patient care experience. Additional Requirements Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification. Ability to obtain Handle With Care certification during orientation. Ability to work assigned 12-hour shifts, including rotating weekends. Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced situations. Schedule Full-Time Day Shift Available Night Shift Available Rotating weekends required
