The Physical Therapist I/II / Advanced Physical Therapist I/II position serves to provide quality physical therapy services to a predominately Native American population for the treatment or prevention of physical disability or disease. Responsible for management and implementation of Physical Therapy program; provision of physical therapy evaluation and treatment of inpatients (regular work week, and weekend rotation) and outpatients, ages ranging from birth through geriatric; provision of specialty services such as wound care, prosthetic and orthotic clinic, geriatric clinic, high school clinic, functional clinic, spinal cord clinic, assistive technology/adaptive equipment evaluation/treatment, Durable Medical Equipment Prosthetic Orthotic Supply Program; assumes direction and development of the physical therapy section to include continuing quality improvement, risk management and safety, physical therapy policies and procedures; Joint Commission preparation, staff education, reporting, staff meeting and in-service, and other duties. Responsibilities also include that listed on the Medical Staff Credentialing Core Privileges form. Key Responsibilities: Consult with patients to learn about their physical condition and symptoms and review their medical history and referrals from doctors or surgeons Diagnose movement dysfunction by listening to patients and observing them as they move about Develop an individualized treatment plan Coach patients and teach them therapeutic exercises and stretches to improve their condition Use hands-on therapy such as massage to ease patients’ pain and provide stimulation to promote healing Maintain patient records by keeping track of goals and progress while adapting treatment plans accordingly Advise patients and their families on in-home treatment options and what to expect from the recovery process Compensation: Weekly Pay (hourly) + Non-taxed Stipend (if eligible) Pay package details provided upon offer
Minimum Requirements: Must have at least 3 years of prior PT experience Must have a Bachelor’s degree from the Commission of Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) accredited school of Physical Therapy. Must possess a valid, current, full and unrestricted license in any state within the United States, District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico during tenure of employment. Applicant must meet requirements to be credentialed to serve on the Medical Staff. All related information required for credentialing must be provided. Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association during employment Excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently. Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability Compliance/Screening (Pre-Start): Drug screen and background check (facility required) Additional facility onboarding forms as assigned
