Description Job Title: Surgical Technician
This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing company at the ground level. We are looking for an individual with the ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include assisting the surgical teams during operative procedures, assuring the operating suite is adequately prepared for procedures and sterilizing all surgical instruments. Travel between multiple ambulatory surgery centers is required. This is a hands-on role for a growing organization.
Prepare the operating room, surgical suite, supplies, and equipment for upcoming surgery Ensure the operating room meets standards for safety and infection control. Assists the surgeon with surgical procedures by passing instruments and anticipating the needs of the surgeon. Verify sterilization of all equipment and the integrity of sterile packing. Works with a Charge RN to monitor supplies and maintenance of equipment. Performs work related tasks and projects as required. All other duties as assigned.
Candidate Qualities & Qualifications: Current BLS Certification required. Current certification as a surgical technologist or proof of equivalent training. Previous experience in operating rooms is preferred, but not required. Basic knowledge of computer and EHR systems. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; works well in group problem-solving situations Ability to remain calm in difficult situations
Supervision Received: Reports to ASC Executive Director
Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a surgical environment.
