About the role

Provide patient-centered perioperative care by managing surgical patients before, during, and after procedures. Collaborate with the healthcare team to maintain sterile fields, perform surgical counts, and ensure patient safety.

What You’ll Be Doing Provide total, patient-centered perioperative care by applying the nursing process in a systematic and organized manner, in accordance with facility policies and patient safety standards Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, anesthesia providers, and ancillary departments to ensure seamless, well-coordinated care Communicate proactively with the healthcare team regarding changes in patient condition, care plans, patient progress, and discharge needs Demonstrate knowledge of nursing responsibilities related to anesthesia administration and monitoring Respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations, exercising sound clinical judgment Safely transfer patients according to prescribed plans and established protocols Create, maintain, and monitor a sterile surgical field throughout procedures Perform surgical counts in accordance with facility policy and regulatory standards Dispense medications and solutions in compliance with organizational policies Manage and monitor the care of surgical patients before, during, and after procedures Ensure appropriate equipment and supplies are available based on patient and procedural needs Maintain accurate documentation and utilize electronic health record systems effectively Assist with patient flow and room turnover What You’ll Bring Education Associate’s Degree in Nursing required Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred Licensure & Certifications Active and unrestricted New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred Experience Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in the OR Urology experience preferred Scrub experience preferred Skills & Competencies Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Proficiency with computers and clinical documentation systems Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment What We are Offer You At U.S.

Requirements

Requires an Associate's Degree in Nursing, an active New Jersey RN license, and BLS certification. A minimum of one year of OR experience is required, with BSN and urology experience preferred.
