The Phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining blood and other specimens for laboratory testing according to physician orders. This includes preparing skin sites, performing venipunctures using aseptic techniques, and transporting labeled specimens to the laboratory.

The Phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining blood and other specimens for laboratory testing according to physician's orders. Obtains needed supplies, verifies patient Identification, prepares skin site and performs venipunctures according to established aseptic techniques. Labels specimen and transport it to Laboratory for analysis.

Requirements

Education: HS Diploma or GED equivalent. Post HS education through accredited phlebotomy training program preferred Licensure: PBT (ASCP) Certification or equivalent preferred Experience: At least one year of experience preferred.
