About the role

The Flu RN is responsible for administering influenza vaccinations to all organizational workforce members during the employee flu campaign. This role involves clinical interaction with all personnel levels and adherence to CDC, JCAHO, and DPH guidelines.

Stamford Health is looking for a fulltime TEMPORY Employee Health Flu Vaccine RN to join the Employee Health Department team!

  • This position is a TEMPORARY Monday through Friday 37.5-hour position with 2 available shifts.
  • Monday through Friday, 1pm to 9pm

Responsibilities

  • The flu RN provides and administers influenza vaccination to all organizational workforce members (i.e. employees, volunteers, medical staff, contractors and others) during the employee flu campaign.
  • This individual is responsible for interacting clinically with all levels and categories of personnel.
  • The flu RN represents and is part of Employee Health and is knowledgeable in all aspects of influenza prevention/immunization in the delivery of this patient care.
  • Stamford follows the CDC, JCAHO and DPH guidelines for influenza vaccination of healthcare workers which helps prevent the spread of influenza to our patients, visitors, co-workers and others who work on or visit our premises.
  • Influenza vaccination is an integral component of infection prevention and is supported by our administration, medical leadership, and Infectious Diseases specialists.
  • Employee Health is responsible for the delivery of this service to hospital employees, and the flu nurses are critical in executing this mandate.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Valid license as Registered Nurse in Connecticut.
  • BSN strongly preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Active driver's license required
  • Minimum of one-year nursing experience required.
  • Employee may need to travel within 20-mile radius to off-site locations.

Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a valid Connecticut RN license and BLS certification. A minimum of one year of nursing experience and a valid driver's license are required, with a BSN strongly preferred.
